Engine/Electrics:
Powered by a single 72 HP, 4 cylinder, fresh water cooled Perkins diesel, model 4-236. The diesel was reported as being re-built and has 646 hours since. There are 3 steel fuel tanks of 125 gal capacity. She has 4 batteries, shorepower, charger, compass, VHF radio, knotmeter. log, digital depthsounder, Loran, autopilot and an AM/FM/cassette stereo. All of the electronics are dated.
Spars/Rig:
"Jacaranda" is sloop rigged with a box section spruce mast, an aluminium boom and S.S. standing rigging. There are 8 sails in total: 2 mainsails, Genoa on roller furling, 3 jibs (various sizes), a storm jib and a storm mainsail. She has 2 primary sheet winches, a halyard winch and a reefing winch.
Interior:
Down below she laid out with an L-shaped settee top port, a settee to starboard with a drop-leaf table on centreline. The galley is on the bulkhead aft with propane cook-top with solenoid switch, S.S. sink with H & C pressure water, a top loading ice box and fairly good storage. Going forward the enclosed head is on port with marine head with holding tank and a sink opposite. The Vee berth forward is large, has an opening hatch over and plenty of storage. The headroom is 6' 4 down below, she has berths for 6 total and the fresh water is stored in one plastic tank of approx 90 gallons capacity. There is an older forced air heating system but it is presently unserviceable.
Exterior/Other Equipment:
The cockpit pilothouse area is large with an inside helm station forward on starboard with hydraulic steering, a full set of controls and instruments and a mate's seat opposite. Another steering station is aft on a binnacle and there is provision for an emergency tiller. The cockpit is completely enclosed with canvass (good condition) and there is 6' 6 headroom under. Her anchor package consists of a CQR on a bowsprit with 60' of chain, 300' of rode and a 12V "Seawolf" windlass. Other gear includes ladder rungs on the stern, manual and automatic bilge pumps, fire extinguishers, windshield wipers, spotlight, cockpit cushions, lunch hook, propane BBQ, and 2 whisker poles.
