Penta TAMD 61A fresh water cooled 1995
diesel engine
with 1600 original hours. Her gear is
a twin disc MG506 and the prop is a 30
x 20 LH bronze 4 blade. She carries 250
gallons of fuel in 2 aluminium tanks
and at cruise uses 2.5 gal/hr at 10 knots
(2000 RPM) and at top speed uses 5 gals/hr
at 15 knots (2650 RPM). She also has
a transmission clutch feature for controlling
the speed when trolling, and there are
trim tabs when up on plane. There is
an "Onan" 4 KW diesel generator,
shorepower, 4 batteries, and a Constavolt.
There are separate AC, DC and battery
panels and all the wiring is to CSI standards.
She has a compass, VHF radio, Loran C, "Goldstar" 24
mile radar, "Raytheon" V900
colour sonar, GPS chart plotter, hailer and AM/FM/Cassette
stereo with exterior speakers. There
are three electric bilge pumps, one driven
off the engine which can be used through
a manifold system to pump any bilge or
fight a fire, and there is a manual pump.
The engine room, mechanical room, and
bilges are all very clean and the engine
room has superior sound insulation.
Interior:
Forward she sleeps two in a
spacious V berth, and has an enclosed
head to
port with electric marine head, sink
and shower with hot and cold pressure
water. The galley is opposite and has
a large deep SS sink, H & C water,
two burner 110V "Seaward" stove
and a "Norcold" AC/DC refrigerator.
Stairs lead up to the wheelhouse which
has sliding doors on either side, as
well as opening windows. The helm is
to port, has 360 visibility and has hydraulic
steering. Going aft from the wheelhouse
and down a step is the salon which has
full length settees on either side and
a fixed table to starboard. There is
ample storage under all the settees as
well as in two cabinets on the bulkhead
leading out to the cockpit. The interior
is heated by a "Webasto" diesel
fired hot water heating system and has
individual thermostats for the stateroom,
wheelhouse and salon. The interior finishing
has a lot of solid teak and housekeeping
is better than average.
Exterior/Other
Equipment:
The foredeck
is spacious and has a sundeck area complete
with cushions. The ground
tackle consists of a "Seawolf" 12V
windlass with chain and line to a 45lb
CQR anchor on a bow roller. The pulpit,
stanchions and lifelines are to CSI standards
and there are plenty of handholds going
aft. The cockpit is outfitted with four
bench seats, a canvass canopy over and
two opening doors either side of the
coamings, as well as, 2 built-in live
bait tanks in the cockpit. Other equipment
include a custom dive ladder, emergency
tiller, fire extinguishers, engine room
Halon, 2 - 8 person liferafts, spotlight,
and "Dickenson" propane BBQ.
Remarks:
The "Atria Star" was
custom built as a charter Vessel in 1986
and
launched in 1987. She is built and equipped
to CSI standards and has a Transport
Canada Certificate for 20 passengers
plus 2 crew (expired) but can be readily
renewed. Includes original building plans
and a trim and stability analysis for
the Vessel. The design and maintenance
of her systems is superior to most boats.
